Bimetal Bushing

Bimetal Bushing

A PBW bimetal bushing is a type of sliding bearing consisting of two primary layers: a strong low-carbon steel backing and a bronze layer. The steel backing provides structural strength, enabling the bushing to handle high loads and stresses, while the bronze layer delivers excellent wear resistance and low friction. This dual-layer construction offers the best of both materials, resulting in a highly durable and efficient bearing solution. The design also provides a compact and space-saving solution, which is particularly beneficial in modern machinery applications where space is limited.

BACKGROUND IMAGE BLOCK

PBW bimetallic bushings are commonly used in various application including engines, pumps, compressors, and turbochargers to reduce friction between moving parts, Enhanced Wear Resistance, Improved Heat Dissipation, Shock Absorption, Corrosion Resistance, especially in areas where high performance, durability and wear resistance are required. These bushings are designed with two different metals, usually a soft running layer (durable materials according to application) and a hard, wear-resistant supporting layer.
